Aakash 2 launched with a price tag of Rs. 1132 especially for students

We have been hearing about Aakash tablets for almost a year and now, once again. The Aakash 2 an upgraded version was launched by President Pranab Mukherjee, today. Students can buy this tab for a price of Rs. 1,132 (after subsidy).
We all know that the first aaksh tablet by Datawind was a failure marred by low computing power and several other issues.  The Aakash 2 is an upgraded version that is powered by a 1GHz processor running Android 4.0 with 4GB internal storage and 512MB RAM.
The new specs definitely look good with a 7 inch screen with capacitive touch supporting 800×480 pixels resolution. Other features included are Wi-Fi and front camera. This aakash tab will also come with host of interactive E-Learning materials.
Only students will be able to buy the tab for Rs. 1,132 whereas for commercial use, users can look out for Ubislate 7ci which is the same – but for a price of Rs. 4,499. You can check out the ubislate.com website which has now got a new look and looks more professional. I hope the delivery / order / support have also been upgraded.

Micromax Funbook talk P362 tablet with voice calling launched

Micromax has launched the Micromax Funbook talk P362 a Jelly Bean powered tablet with voice call feature. This is the second Funbook talk tablet from Micromax.
The first p350 also supported voice call. There is not much difference between these two models. The P362 runs on Jelly Bean 4.1 OS powered by 1.2GHz single core cortex A9 processor with better battery mAh capacity and dual cameras.
There is 2MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP front camera. The camera can record videos in VGA mode and you can easily play 1080p videos. There is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm jack and micro USB. There is also a SIM slot that work with 2G networks only. There is no built in 3G support but you can connect external dongle. There no built in GPS receiver either.
The screen size and resolution is the same as with the older talk model, i.e. 7 inch with 800×480 pixels resolution with 16M colours. The RAM is at a good 1GB capacity with 4GB internal storage and microSD card slot.
The pricing I believe will be slightly more than the P350 tablet.

zync dual core and quad core tablets
Zync Quad 9.7
By now you already might have guessed that this is a quad core tablet with 9.7 inch screen. The specs are similar to the Quad 8.0. The only difference is that the screen resolution is at an impressive 2048×1536 pixel (in other words as good as what you get on the Apple tablets – retina display).
This tab also runs on Jelly bean with 8000 mAh battery capacity. The Zync Quad 9.7 comes for a price of Rs. 13,990.

How to root Sony Xperia Z
This procedure is tested on C6603 model but it works on C6602 model also. Prior to rooting, your system should be working on 10.1.A.1.350 firmware version and your boot-loader must be unblocked. Now let’s move to main part. Follow this procedure to root your Xperia Z:
1. Follow these pre-requisites. It will help your device to stay away from all security threats.

2. Download ADB to your compute (from android.com).

3. Download modified CF-Auto-Root kernel and Stock insecure kernel for FW (10.1.A.1.350) to your computer. Don’t rename any of the files.

4. Download ROM manger app from play store.

5. Now using the ROM Manger app, boot your device to bootloader mode (you may find manual instructions on device manual book too).

6. Now take USB cord and connect Xperia Z with the computer n which above two files are downloaded.

7. Open Command Prompt and enter these code:

• fastboot flash boot Z_DooMLoRD_CF-Auto-Root-ported_FW-350.img

how to root canvas hd a116

image
I’ve already shared how to root micromax a110 canvas 2 smartphone with Bin4ry’s Rooting Tool and it’s time to go for the most anticipated budget smartphone ever, aka Micromax A116 Canvas HD. I’m not going to elaborate the features and specs ofCanvas HD as it’s none of my business.
Here I’m using the fastest yet guaranteed rooting tool to root your Micromax A116. Bin4ry’s rooting tool has gained huge applause due to its ability to root almost all ICS based smart phones.
We had used it rooting canvas 2 and I never got any error reply from my loyal readers.
Micromax A116 Canvas HD is the most awaited smartphone which is ruling the market from January 2013. It’s reported that the pre made sets have been finished and it’s out of stock now. By the way, how many of you got this fantastic phone

How to root Micromax A116 Canvas HD
I’m actually bored of saying  disclaimer again and again but if you are new to rooting, I’ve only one word to say, Rooting voids warranty and may cause bricking of your phone.
Not all rooting goes wild. Here we exploit the power of Bin4ry’s rooting tool which reports very few fatal errors or device bricking.
The most interesting piece is that It won’t lose your warranty as it can revert your phone to stock stage anytime. Yes, you can unroot the device at anytime.
Requirements
1. Generic version of Micromax A116 Canvas HD ( never try with other variants as it may lead to device bricking.)
2. Micromax A116 drivers.
3. Bin4ry’s rooting tool
4. Backup of current data. For your safety, it’s always recommend to take proper backups before proceeding any rooting tasks.
Backup your messages, contacts (will be automatically saved toGoogle if contact sync is enabled.), necessary files and almost all important files. Either move the files from device to another storage device or sync to cloud.
5. Enable USB debugging on your
Micromax A116 Canvas HD. (Go to
Settings > Developer Options >
Check mark “USB Debugging” and
then tap OK button).
Procedure on rooting Micromax A116 Canvas HD
1. Extract Bin4ry’s rooting tool to your PC.
2. After installing phone drivers on PC, connect the phone and let it rest.
3. Go to the folder named “Root_
with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18
and run the “ Runme.bat ” file.
If you had read my Canvas 2 rooting guide, you might have known the following steps.
4. You may see a command box after opening the file in step 3. Type “1″ to go for Normal mode
5. Just read the further steps from the window and wait until it finishes copying necessary files and reboot.

  • unofficial update for tab 2 10.1

  • The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 variant has received its own unofficial build of CM 10.1 and you should use this post to learn how to successfully install the new ROM. Read all the instructions that I have listed and make sure that you know what you’re doing before starting to flash the update on your tablet.
  • CM 10.1 is based on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and the build in this post has been released by ‘codeworkx’, a well know CM developer. This is currently a simple experimental build of the popular ROM. It brings support for lockscreen widgets, multi-user , daydreams, 360-degrees panorama with the PhotoSphere camera function, Gesture typing keyboard and improved performance along with a more stable ROM.
  • Since this build of CM 10.1 is experimental you might find bugs and errors. At the moment, the home screen of your tablet will stay in Landscape mode only, and the screen might not power on when trying to unlock it. These are the only known bugs in this CM10.1 experimental ROM release.

  •
  • Learn how to correctly set your device and make sure that you won’t lose any using the guidelines below:
  • Use this tutorial only with the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 variant tablet. Do not attempt to flash these files on any other Android device. It should work with the P5100, P5110 and P5130 tablet model versions.
  • Your device should be rooted and running a CWM Recovery image. Without these you cannot complete the installation of this new ROM.
  • Enable USB debugging option from your device’s developer options.
  • Charge your tablet’s battery so that you won’t see it power off in the middle of the updating process.
  • This is a tutorial that should be installed only by advanced Android users. Don’t use this guide if you’re a novice, as you might end up bricking your device and that is something that you won’t want to happen.
  • Create a full NANDROID backup of the current ROM. This will come in handy if you cannot flash the new update or in case the Galaxy Tab 2 doesn’t boot normally after applying the changes.
  • Note that we cannot be blamed if your device is bricked nor can we be held responsible if you lose any important data that is currently stored on your device.
  • Use applications to backup your installed apps, SMS and other important things that are currently stored on the tablet. However, if you try to use this ROM only for testing purposes then you shouldn’t create backups as you will eventually restore the ROM backup file.
  • Apply all the steps I’ve listed and make sure that you don’t skip any steps I’ve listed.
  • These are all the steps that you had to take and now you should move to the next part of this guide. If you cannot complete the update, then you should ask for more in comments.
  • How to update Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 with experimental CM 10.1 Android 4.2 ROM:
  • Download the ROM from HERE for P5100 model number. For the P5110 and P5130 model use this link here. Save the file on your PC desktop screen. Do not extract.
  • Get the Gapps for Jelly bean from HERE. Save it on PC and don’t extract the contents.
  • Connect your tablet to your PC using the USB cable. Move both files on your device’s internal SD card. After the transfer is complete you need to disconnect the Galaxy Tab 2 from PC.
  • Power off the tablet and then boot it into CWM Recovery mode. It can be done if you press ‘volume down’ and ‘power’ buttons at the same time. Release the buttons when the recovery screen loads.
  • Select the ‘backup and restore’ option to create a full NAND backup of your ROM. If you already have such file then you can skip this step and continue to the next one. NOTE: if you don’t have a ROM backup then you shouldn’t get to the next step as that one will wipe data from your device and you won’t be able to restore your device to a working state in case something goes wrong during the update.
  • You’re now at the main menu of CWM Recovery and you need to select the ‘wipe data/ factory reset’ option and then confirm this action from the new screen. When this is done, get to the next step.
  • Choose ‘install zip from SD card’ and after that select ‘choose zip from sdcard’ Find the ROM file and confirm that you do want to install it. Wait until the ROM is successfully installed and after that you can repeat the same action and flash the Gapps file.
  • When the ROM and the Google Apps zips are installed, return to the main recovery screen and select ‘reboot system now’.
  • Now your tablet will reboot and you should wait until you see the homescreen of the new CM 10.1 experimental ROM home screen.
  • Test all the new features you find and tell in comments if it has improved the overall performance of your device.
  • In case you don’t like the new ROM, then you should use the backup ROM file and restore it using the CWM Recovery mode.
  • If the first boot process of the new CM 10.1 ROM takes too long to complete, you will have to power off the device and after that you should repeat the entire tutorial from step 1. Eventually you should be able to flash all the required files and get the latest experimental build of CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM on your Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 device.
